TMWRA wildlife mitigation
This project is big and takes most of our time and energy. This area is open to the public for hiking, fishing, upland bird hunting and the like. We are responsible for any damage that may be caused to the property so we limit the public to walk in access only at this time. We are also responsible for keeping and improving the habitat for wildlife. We have undertaken many improvement projects including, creating and maintaining food plots, grubbing and spraying unwanted invasive woody plants, planting cottonwood trees, protecting critical turkey roost area, installing solar water pumps for wildlife watering sources, conducting deer surveys, maintain digital forage study before and after grazing, upkeep of interior fences and water gaps throughout property, and maintaining wildlife openings. |
