Pease River Partners Foundation(PRPF), a Texas 501-C3 Corporation formed in 2003, determined exempt by Internal Revenue service effective April 19, 2004. (Tax Id number 73-1702201) Our main purpose was to pursue management of the 12,000 acre Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) wildlife mitigation area between Crowell and Quanah, for education and ecotourism purposes. In March of 2006, PRPF was awarded management of this property by ACOE’s thru the County of Foard.
Currently, Pease River Partners manages the Teacup Mountain Wildlife and Recreation area (TMWRA) 12,000 acre Corps land for wildlife mitigation as set forth by Congress. A wildlife mitigation plan is followed and approved annually. Our license agreement calls for all management practices to be in accordance with guidance for the United States Fish and Wildlife Services, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the US Army Corps of engineers. We have sought partnerships from other organizations that have expertise and interest in our objectives and projects. These partners include the National Wild Turkey Federation, Natural Resources Conservation Department, Texas Tech University, Texas A&M Research faculty, and The Disabled Veterans Administration.
